My son A. loves these burgers and when I make them he always asks for an extra one to take in his packed lunch the following day.
400g lean mince beef
1 teaspoon mild curry powder
1 teaspoon mild chilli powder
Pinch of salt
Vegetable oil and butter for frying
Place the curry powder, the chilli powder and the salt in a bowl. Add the mince beef and mix well.
Divide into equal portions and shape the burgers with your hands. Place them on a plate, cover with clingfilm and put in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
Fry the burgers in a little vegetable oil and butter until they are golden brown on both sides. Remove them to a plate and drain all the oil from the pan (you don't need to clean the pan just drain all the fat). Put the burgers back in the pan and over a low heat add some double cream (the quantity depends on how much sauce you want to make). Turn the heat off as soon as it begins to bubble and serve immediately.
